Nova Pictures
This all original 1972 Nova SS has been in our family since 1974. My dad bought it with 30k on it. The only difference between this SS and a regular Nova was the SS grille, SS steering wheel, and SS badge on the rear. This car didn't even come with carpet, it had a rubber matting down. It also had hub capped rims, and an AM radio. It also had the non functional grilles on the hood. This thing was no slacker though. With the original 350, and Saginaw 4 speed it ran a 13 flat when my dad bought it. He rebuilt the engine and put a bigger cam, and a few other mods shortly after. It was my families primary transportation for many, many years. Finally, when my mom was driving a Malibu, and my dad was driving a '72 Chevy truck(which turned out to be my first vehicle), the Nova sat lonely in a garage from about 1985 to 1990 when we had to move. My dad couldn't find a way to transport the Nova half way across the country, so he sold it to his brother. It was only driven a few times and spent allot of time back in a garage. My dad decided he wanted it back. Luckily it turned out that's why his brother just stored it. My day got it back in 1995 when I was in Basic Training. It sat in our back yard for quite a while because my dad didn't have time to mess with it. Towards the end of the 90's my dad put it in a paint shop and had it painted, as close to the original color as he could. (They quite making the original color a long time ago) Since then he does a little here and there, as you can see from the mods list. Its a real experience to drive, and to ride in. It really fast, but has a real problem hooking up. Slowly but surely this car is really coming together..
