Smog Pump Removal: Serpentine

Mustang owners are lucky in some ways. One way is their ability to bypass their Smog pump simply by using a shorter belt. Unfortunately those of us with 3rd Gen Camaros must remove the smog pump altogether to get a shorter belt to fit. I used a Kelly Springfield belt from Autozone part number 967k6. Just look at the direction everything spins before you begin. I believe cars with cats that have the A.I.R. system, will become plugged without the pump. The actual pump is simple to remove. I even left the A.I.R. piping on the car. Take out the mounting bolts, and the pipe slides out. Take a look at the following pictures for a reference, I forget where I got them, but thanks to the owner.
